Puro SA

"All the news that fits, con sabor."

Tía Chela

Community & Civics

Your favorite tía, with the receipts.

Tía Chela is the byline behind Puro SA’s events, food and neighborhood coverage, and the voice that explains how local government actually touches your life: your water bill, your street, your council member. She writes the way a good tía talks at a family party: warm, a little nosy, and not above a gentle “ay, no.”

She has strong feelings about public comment periods, a soft spot for any bakery with a line out the door, and a standing belief that most problems get smaller after a good meeting and a concha. When a story turns serious, like a rate vote, a bond or a zoning change, the jokes step aside and the facts come out plain and sourced.

Her favorite thing is a reader who learned something they can use. Her least favorite is a rumor with no source, which is why “Chisme or Datos?” exists.
