Mija, mark your calendar. Pearl’s free, weeklong Día de los Muertos celebration runs Tuesday, Oct. 27, through Tuesday, Nov. 3, with ofrendas, live music and performances, children’s activities and art installations, according to Pearl’s event page.
New this year: five local artists painted 4-foot calaveras, each telling a personal story. Pearl lists them on display from Oct. 23 through Nov. 5.
The big night is Sunday, Nov. 1, from 5 to 9 p.m. at Pearl Park: ofrendas by local artists, a community altar, performances, vendors and the Catrin & Catrina contest, with a procession across the campus around 7:15 p.m. (details).
