San Antonio FC beat Orange County SC 2-1 on Saturday, Oct. 24, at Toyota Field and clinched its second straight USL Championship playoff berth, per the club’s recap.
Emil Cuello opened the scoring in the 15th minute off a Nelson Flores Blanco assist, and Cristian Parano made it 2-0 in the 59th, his team-leading sixth goal. Orange County got one back in the 86th. Close enough to sweat, primos, not close enough to matter.
SAFC finishes the regular season 11-7-12 with 45 points, sixth in the West, and is 8-1-1 when it scores first.
Next: the Western Conference Quarterfinals at El Paso Locomotive FC on Friday, Oct. 30, at 8 p.m. CT. The club says broadcast details are coming later.
